Some verbs change their stem vowel in 2nd and 3rd person singular: e → i (sprechen → du sprichst, er spricht), e → ie (sehen → du siehst, er sieht), a → ä (fahren → du fährst, er fährt). It's not a typo — it's part of the conjugation. Wir / ihr / sie forms stay regular.

Some verbs have a prefix that splits off from the stem in a main clause and slides to the end: «aufstehen» → «Ich stehe um sieben auf», «einkaufen» → «Wir kaufen Brot ein». Common separable prefixes: auf-, ein-, ab-, an-, mit-, weg-, zu-, vor-, nach-. In the dictionary they're one word — in speech they break apart.
